Thank You!

I was holding off on posting my thank you cards for Christmas gifts.  I wanted the recipients to be surprised.  These are cute little 3x3inch notecards.  I did not mail these.  I handed them out when I got back to work and put them in mailboxes at school.

3x3 inch thank you cards
What I did:

Stamps & Products:
Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set (SU!)
Fresh Fig cardstock(SU!) cut 6 x 3inches, scored at 3inches, 2 pieces Whisper white 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 inches
Ink: Black Momento Ink and Fresh Fig(SU!)
Stampin Blends Dark Rich Razzleberry and Dark Old Olive to color in flowers and leaves

I stamped the large flower-vine design off-center, bottom left in black moment ink.  Next, stamped the sentiment in Black moment and waited for it to dry completely and colored it in with the Stampin' Blends. I stamped the outside of the mini envelope using the same stamp with Fresh Fig ink.  When all was dry I mounted the the stamped layer on the outside and Whisper White for the inside land wrote my thank you message.

You Are Amazing!

I entered my first card challenge this week. I entered You are amazing! for  CAS(E) this Sketch. The sketch is below.  I really learned that you should STAMP YOUR IMAGE FIRST.  I went through much to much work creating this one, because I couldn't find the sentiment that would work, and when I finally did, it smudged!  Lesson learned: Stamp first!
What I did:
Stamps and products:
Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits(SU!)
Sentiment: Feathery Friends (SU! Hostess Set)
Paper: Card base Whisper White (SU!) 11 x 4 1/4, scored 5 1/2
           Whisper White 4 1/8 x 4
           DSP Tutti-Frutti paper 2 pieces 4 1/4 x 2

I built the design on the top, first and then used thin pop-up dots to raise it a little off the base.

I had a lot of fun with this design.  Now that I have the measurements down, I think it will be easier to recreate with other thinlits.

My First Craft Class

I invited a few friends over to make tags from their Old Christmas cards.  This was a very casual gathering.  Not a lot of supplies were needed. I provided a few punches, hole punches, and some cutting boards.  I showed a few examples and let their creativity take them the rest of the way.  The event was from 10:30am - 12:30pm.  I made some muffins and had fruit.  Mom brought over Lemon squares.  Most everyone else brought drinks with them.  I would have loved to say I have a picture of any part of the event.  Sadly, I do not have any action shots.  As soon as I set up the table, people began arriving and I was hopping the entire time.  I did get a few of my tags done and have an image of that.  I also gave away these cute little ghirardelli goodies, wrapped in Delightful Daisy Designer Paper. Showcasing the Scallop Tag Topper punch that we used today.

These tags are a version learned from The Paper Pixie.  Many guest showed interest in learning how to make these.  This is a possible class idea for February.  Maybe 2 different versions of this treat holder.
Thank you, Deb. for sharing your pictures.

I was able to talk about Sale-A-Bration and show the new Occasions Catalog.  I think I will have enough in purchases ($150.00) to have a mystery hostess.  This means, for everyone who orders, I will put their name in a box and pick one.  That person will get all the hostess benefits.  Depending on how much the total show is, that could be an extra $20 - $40 in product, or more!.  If the total gets to $250.00 the hostess gets an additional $25 in product.  It's a great time to host a party!

Thank you, Sympathy

Thank you cards are fun to make.  Sympathy cards are pretty straight forward. But, a thank you for your sympathy was a little more challenging.  My mother-in-law passed away over the holiday.  The outpouring of cards, flowers, and donations for my father-in-law was overwhelming.  I was tasked to create the thank you cards.  I was also tasked with he message inside (even more difficult).  I decided to go with the Heartfelt Blooms Sale-A-Bration set to create these cards.  I think this card would look even better with the tent fold- cut paper 11in x 4.25 in and score at 5.5in.
Stamp Set: Heartfelt Blooms(SU!)
Ink: Black Momento
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Basic Gray(SU!)
Embellishments:Gray silk ribbon (Michaels), small silver brad(Michaels)

It's Sale-A-Bration Time

This is my favorite time of year for Stampin' Up! Customers.  You can get so much free product. For every $50 you spend you get to pick something free out of the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. I am so excited to try the many stamp sets that have just been delivered.  The first one I created was with the  Heartfelt Blooms set.
This is a new type of stamp.  A beautiful, photographic bouquet in a gorgeous vintage look. A one-step stamp image for  your projects! Stamp in one color or stamp in a neutral color and color in your favorite shades.

Distinktive stamp lays down the ink at different opacities, giving the finished image more depth.

You have got to try this stamp.  It really looks like a photograph.

Here is my first go at it:
Heartfelt Blooms Set
Paper: Very Vanilla(SU!)
Ink: Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry(SU!)
Embellishments: Vanilla satin ribbon (Michaels Craft store)
